Infino on the public ClickBench board: SQL analytics over 100M rows, measured by ClickBench's own harness from Infino's directory upstream. Where another engine is faster, this page says so.

infino bench clickbench --board

Where Infino ranks

On the public ClickBench board, Infino ranks in the top 11% for SQL query speed on the leaderboard machine (c8g.metal-48xl, hot runs), out of roughly 501 systems.

It stores the same 100M-row dataset in the top 6% for size on c6a.4xlarge, and on the leaderboard machine stays ahead of every ClickHouse-on-Parquet and DataFusion build.

Filtered to the search engines on the board, Infino ranks #1 for SQL analytics (combined metric), ahead of Quickwit, Elasticsearch, SigLens and ParadeDB.

100M rows, 43 queries, hot runs (the best of the repeated runs), lower is faster. Percentile is Infino's position among the systems on the live board for that machine (~501 systems), snapshot 2026-10-06. It shifts as systems are added, so compare machine first. What ClickBench measures

  • One dataset, one query set. A 100M-row table of anonymized web analytics events, queried by the same 43 SQL queries on every system.
  • Three runs per query. Cold is the first run and hot is the best of the other two. The board can rank on either, or on a combined metric.
  • Storage size. The size of the loaded dataset on disk, a separate ranking from query speed.
  • Machines. Every system can be submitted on several cloud machines, and results are compared machine by machine. The leaderboard machine is c8g.metal-48xl.
  • Run by ClickBench, not by us. The numbers come from ClickBench's own harness and scripts, from the infino directory in the upstream repository, the same way as every other system on the board.
./benchmark.sh

Reproduce it

Start a fresh machine of the type you want to compare, then run the infino directory's script from the upstream repository. It hands off to ClickBench's shared driver, which installs Infino, loads the dataset and runs each of the 43 queries three times, the same flow as every other system on the board.

Common questions

Why is hot the number to compare on ClickBench?

ClickBench runs each query three times. Cold is the first run and hot is the best of the other two. Infino took its cold runs with the OS page cache dropped before every query, while the reference engines run cold against a warm OS cache, so the cold columns measure different things. Hot is measured the same way for every engine.

Which engines are ahead of Infino on ClickBench?

By hot query speed on the leaderboard machine, Infino sits in the top 11% of the field. The systems ahead are native-format or in-memory engines and DuckDB and ClickHouse builds, led by Umbra, CedarDB and DuckDB. Infino stays ahead of every DataFusion build and every ClickHouse-on-Parquet variant on that machine. The full field is the live board.

Why does a search engine run an analytics benchmark?

Agents ask questions that mix search with counting, grouping and joining. Infino answers both in one engine, so the SQL half has to hold up against analytics engines, not only against other search engines. ClickBench is the public, third-party way to check that.
